The churches in the town of Etropole hold out а prospect for development of religious tourism. There are 7 churches in Etropole municipality, 5 of them are located in the town and the other two are situated in the villages of Lopyan and Brusen. The churches in the town are: St. Archangel Michael Church, St. George Church (both of them were built in the 17^th century), St. Ilijah Church, St. Petka Church, and the newly built St. Nicholas Church. An interesting fact about the churches in Etropole is that all of them are arranged in the shape of a Christian cross. The other two churches are: St. Nicholas Church in the village of Brusen and Sts Peter and Paul Church in the village of Lopyan.
