Georgi Benkovski Cave is located near the Thracian fortress “Chertigrad”.  It is a natural cave which in 1876 served as a hiding place for the famous Bulgarian Revolutionary Georgi Benkovski and his brothers-in-arms after the defeat of the April Uprising on their way to Troyan.

Benkovska Cave has been declared as a historical site and a protected natural monument.

The cave is situated in Ostrilya neighborhood in the village of Cherni Vit, Etropole municipality.People can get there from the village of Yamna and then by walking along the marked pathway called "Following in Benkovski’s footsteps".
